I don't have a lot of experience with Ableton Live or Push but I do have a lot of experience with samplers and sequencers in general and this new Push 3 is definitely a beast!
I took it through my usual process and now it all makes sense to me. I'm really curious to know what you guys think about this device and the overall development we see in the industry. Join the conversation in the comment section or join the discord server down below.
A big thanks to Ableton for giving me the opportunity to do this and thank you for all the support and love!

MPE pads has been done before. My mistake.
Sorry about the hiss on the mic, I accidentally disabled my noise reducer in the edit. Hope you can watch it anyways.
Don’t sweat it! Mic sounds better than most other RUclipsrs as it is.
Ha! What's funny if I had noise in my home studio and I pulled up your video to see if I had eliminated it. Took me a second to realize it was in the recording.
Vinyl sampling next pls. Thanks
So it doesn’t do granular synthesis yet?
@@Space_pulse😮😮😮90
For all the videos I watched about this new ableton. This has to be the best one yet. Great job!!!
Thank you!!
Agree 👍
I was gonna say that 👏
yes sir !!!!!
We need more Push 3 videos. It’s look like a dream for sample based hip hop producers.
I know!!! I’d love to make more push 3 videos but this was a sponsored thing with a loaned unit and it was sent back months ago.
I had it long enough to develop an opinion and learn it but…. I just don’t have one anymore.
Sorry to disappoint
congratz on 100K subs fam!
This was definitely the best video for the push hands down!
I'm happy to see, that you are just fine. This makes me very happy. Did not saw your vids for quite a time and to see, that your health state looks really good, makes me happy. Stay healthy and thanks for your videos.
This video is causing my desire for this device to grow immensely...I love some Ableton
As a MPC live user the AP3 sparks my interest 🔥
This is so slick well done Germany.
Dope! I like your vids cause you actually make music on them instead of just talk about it. That's what I came to see! Thanks bro!
Thanks for saying that man. It’s alway tricky whenever projects like this comes up… Should I make a review, a detalied wakthrough, actually using it, comparing it with something else?
Glad you liked it!
LinnStrument is MPE compatibel device with pads.
Very nice look-see at the AP3. And what you created in just a few minutes is amazing. Thanks so much.
Dope scratch, man! Everything blended in nicely at the end
Love it man! Definitely getting me one of these.
Man, this is incredibly inspiring. Thanks for putting this out there 🙏🏻
Killed this man 🔥🔥🔥
Epic moment at 10:31 ! :) In the end, what would you say is handier for making beats? This or the Maschine + ?
Handier? I don't know... I think they are pretty different from one another. Push 3 is the more capable device in general and the workflow is great once you're used to it. Maschine+ is still one of my favourite devices but this one is 100% up there. I also think Ableton will keep adding cool stuff in future firmware versions that makes it even more powerful
Mpc live 2 supports mpe on the pads. Been done before, but loving the look and feel of the push 3
I was just thinking of getting used 2nd or 1st one… and here this comes out
Rocking a Push 2 for years and I love it. MPE is growing on me. Great video that shows how the workflow in Push/Ableton is intuitive and inspiring.
Thank you!
For a push 2 user, I think this is pretty much a no-brainer even though it’s not very cheap.
Thanks for the aupport
Is the push 2 worth it today for a first time push user? Or should I spend extra and go for the push 3?
Great video. Now if I only liked how Ableton Live works. The hardware is great. This sounds like a great tool for Live users who have a session view centric workflow.
I will celebrate from afar for Ableton Live fans but that’s all I can do. It won’t change my life. While I have a Live 11 Standard license, it isn’t my tool of choice.
Bro I think this is my favorite beat that you've made

Holy moly, you’re SO good at pad drumming 🤯
Banger.
This flat design of the Push 3 looks beautiful.
It sure does. And it's pretty comfortable to work on too!
Love that you just dive straight into it. I ordered the controller version, but you have me wishing I woulda splurged on the stand-alone. I guess I'll get in line for the upgrade kit!
Yeah, I felt l Ike I had to make a video of actually using it!
Getting the controller version might be the real power move. No one knows where ableton will go with the upgradability in the future. Good luck my man!
thank you for the great content. dope beat and video. Ordered mine too. Hope to see more push 3 content from you.
Thank you for the support!
This is a loan unit, let’s see if I decide to pick it up or not but I’ll try to include it in another video somehow before it goes back :)
None of the push 3 reviewers have mentioned the surface finish. Is it the same TPE rubberized surface used on the Push 1 and Push 2? If it is, this surface deteriorates to a sicky gummy mess. Researching this on the net, only to find its the same for other owners. The surface breaks down over time in normal ligh. There is no known solution, short of removing the surface with rubbing alcohol.
Well, I heard and read in several reviews that the “Soft Touch” finish is not a thing anymore. Apparently Ableton got rid of that on later batches of the Push 2.
@@PantaFlux I ca
n confirm that .;0) I now own this beasty.
I appreciate you! 👏💿🎶
Uh oh!! One of my favorite content creators about to give the Push 3 the acid test. Let's go!!
☺️
wtf, it actually worked perfectly
This is the best review for p3 ! >
thank you for the video. thats the best presentation so far about the Push 3. if i may give you a little tip. I love using the waves NS1 Noise surpressor to get rid of the white noise from the Mic ;)
i back this definitly recormment that plugin its flexable for getting rid of background noise i use it when i record songs
Thanks! I’m aware… I must’ve accidentally disabled my noice remover completely before exporting… not the right mix either.
I learn by my mistakes, thanks for the heads up
Awesome Video!
Dude u are a dam beast I luv it
Go Maestro!
Thanks, the beat was dope ....
Very nice very nice.
I have been using Ableton Live since v8 and Push 2 since 2015. I like both, but for me this isn't enough to make me spend $2000 or even to change from PUSH 2. You did make it look cool though. However, I am using my PUSH 2, Ableton and MPC X SE together with great success. It is easier to get more done but harder to stop working since I got the MPC XSE because I am having way to much fun. It is crazy what I can do with my set up which also includes hardware synths.
Love from India 👑
Thanks for Sharing @AccurateBeats well done man! 🔥🔥🔥
Hi Accurate Beats, thank for the video there is a new independent face book group has been launched Ableton Push 3 Group
super nice
Great video, thanks.
Great video, great demonstration, great explanation and a great beat. 👍🏻
He's the sampler guy...he's got them all! 😱
Well… I heard you like samplers, so I put a sampler in your sampler so you can sample while you sample.
Great video, Accurate.
AlwAys come with it. ❤❤❤❤
i knew you get it
Im planning to buy my first push controller, it really looks cool and seems like will simplify producing tracks. But it might sound dumb but i have been using a midi controller with 49 keys since past 3 years and havent had any experience in drum machines or button midis. Can someone answer my question on how do you play chords on this device? Like how do i get the piano layout so i can play notes on this? Is it a learning curve if you are coming from a traditional midi controller?
At first I thought it was click bait, but this is for real. 😳🤯
Nah, I wouldn’t do that to you guys 😉
I'm all for it even though I'm a Logic user but I just don't have $2k at the moment and disappointed that only gives you the basic version of Live and not at least the middle tier (standard I think)
yeh it ships with intro - 16 tracks, 16 scenes and 4 instruments.
there are discounts on upgrading to standard and suite so you't pay full rrp.
I feel you, middle tier would have been much cooler. I’m also a Logic user and I use pretty much a only 3rd party plugins. Since Push doesn’t support 3rd plugins, with entry level Ableton I’d only have 4 synths… so I’d also have to upgrade Ableton as well (and still would have any of the other plugins I already own). That shit all adds up. I think the prices are fair, just don’t want to have to drop a few hundred more at the same time.
You can get Ableton intro in a cereal box at this point. $2k device should get you the “standard” version of the required software, minimum. Clown move to be honest. (But the Push looks amazing of course).
@@alchemistrpm82 that's what I'm saying! But I do thoroughly like what this is
DAT DRIFT BOY
I think that now I know what the next maschine MK4/plus2 screen is gonna look like.
Can't wait to play with it !!
It is actually something you gotta experience first hand to really understand the MPE stuff 😀
@@AccurateBeats yep I bought it the first day and really like it !!
Q. transferring files - wifi
so far i've only seen moving files via wifi from ableton on computer to push 3 as in side ableton there's a "push folder" to drop stuff in.
So ... only between abletlon installs..??
not anywhere else on your computer.. not a phone or blank computer/ipad/phone without ableton?
The only way I've done it is through the gui in Live. It works well but I would've loved an SD-card slot
@@AccurateBeats thanks for the reply accurate - appreciated.
Too smooooth
Soooo cool
To the point hommie 🎉
Could you make a stress test and show us in a project how many synth tracks +eq,fx and master fx we can use I wonder. Cheers. ✌️🙏
Can you add, remove and change the positions of warp markers from the hardware?
Ga dang mane 💙💯
I have that chop and swing pack and a push2. That pack wont show up on the push2 when I browse packs. I have to load it from the computer with my mouse. Any thoughts?
Great vid. Think I want one now. The MPC workflow isn’t working for me
Dope....
Great video! Is it just me or do the drums knock pretty hard? Sounds like they‘ve got a good amount of punch. Will have to take a closer look into this one. Also, i really like the fact that you can switch parts and update the unit. Makes this one really attractive and sustainable.
Yeah, the sustainability aspect here is huge!
Some of the included drums are really really nice and packs a decent punch for sure!
Can you explain how you load samples to audio tracks from your user library? I can’t click on my user library when I hit the plus button and then device. Clicking the jog wheel does nothing. I could only load samples to simpler.
Make an audio track, just a default one.
Go to the device page (or maybe the clip view) and click the reload button (two arrows in a circle, between the plus and minus)
A bit weird but it works :)
Just so you know, the Linnstrument has MPE on pads
My bad!
Killin
2k seems a little bit crazy even more if you add live 11 license and a proper audio interface ?
🤯
Sick
Great video! I see the MPC XSE in the background. If you could only keep the XSE or the Push 3 which would it be? I know they are different workflows but I would appreciate your opinion. Thank you!
Well… I’d have to keep the MPC. I’m so used to the workflow and everything that it wouldn’t make sense to let go of that. Push 3 is an exciting and awsome piece and I think it could replace the MP if I wanted to make the switch. The MPE functionality and the battery are huge pros and there aren’t that many cons but… The MPC is great too.
It’s all great! For real
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I was really hoping you'd be posting on this! As someone who just bought a Force, but could probably still return it, I'd love to hear your thoughts on how they stack up? Do you miss the Force's bigger and touch sensitive screen, e.g. when correcting notes or entering text? Do you think Akai or Ableton have the better instruments and effects? Also, how do you find the sensitivity on the pads, is it easy to get the velocity you want in note mode - I'm struggling a bit with that on the Force? So many questions...!!
Let me start somewhere :)
I haven’t used Push much for a while but since I’m so used to the MPC’s, the big touchscreen is definitely nice. The way midi ending works on Push 3 is really well done and just a tiny bit more fidelity than on the Force. Entering text is definitely a lot easier on a touch screen.
The quality of the content is really a subjective thing and it’s hard to pick a favorite…
The pads on Push3 are the most sensitive pads I’ve experienced ever. Everyone might not love that but it’s a necessity for all the MPE stuff to work well. You gotta be careful to not rest a finger on the pad :)
@@AccurateBeats Thanks so much for the reply, that really helps. With neither Akai or Ableton supporting 3rd party VSTs on their standalone devices it seems like you really need to pick an ecosystem and stick with it now. particularly if you're going to invest a lot in buying things like Fabric and Mini D. My fear is that as Akai start rolling out more, and more complex instruments, the Force (and 2GB MPCs) may run out of processor for all of that!
@@woody2505 Force has that “auto convert vst to sample instruments” function
shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
🔥🔥🔥🙏
Also Accurate... this beat Bruh 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks!I think it came out pretty cool 😀
fireeee
Can you use it in something like an hybrid mode? Like a DSP? For example: I have a very heavy session on the computer and I want to play an operator bass but using the push 3 processor..
How do you like the bass plug ins on it?
Actually there has been an MPE drumpad before! The Keith McMillen QuNeo had MPE functionality
Thanks! Experienced any bugs/lags?
Yo accurate, do you record your speech directly to vinyl? The noise floor is crazy
It’s all the rage these days. Storing the vinyl is a huge problem tho.
Yeah, I'm trying out different ways to do this in the new home studio and I honestly thought this would be better than it is. I might have to go back to the lav mic in the future...
Everyone's talking about this vs MPC or whatever, but this may be the "souped up Circuit Tracks" I've been looking for for a long time. Does it actually charge via USB-C though? Loopop said it doesn't, you mention it does "power" it? I'd want to avoid lugging around another power brick.
This is way better than the MPC…time for Akai to step up their game and not releases different colored boxes lol
It does work over 65w PD USB C
@@Epicfuzz I don't think it's better than the MPC (or Force). It has features I would love to see on both for sure like better warping but overall I find the workflow on the Force to be superior to the Push.
@@apoclypse 64 pads with full MPE? That’s unheard of…I just think Akai and NI need to step up. Ableton is the first to bring these features in a stand alone unit so now others need to challenge them. It all works out the best for us
@@Epicfuzz the midi controller alone is $1000 and doesn’t even come with a full version of the software 😂. Standalone is $2500 with suite. That’s the same price as the MPC X SE! But but but the Push 3 is upgradeable. That’s more money. Off value alone the Maschine Plus and MPC series are better. The only huge plus is the time stretching. If you don’t AKAI isn’t working on that. You sadly mistaken! Btw the Push 3 doesn’t have an arranger, doesn’t support usb file transfer, no sd card slot, and few other things too. It’s better though😂😂
But, what about the converters?
Could you do a video on how to create like a 3 hour long set on there?
If it can hold it standalone and if you don't run into major issues?
Making 1 song is fine but creating an entire live set to perform with on stage without having to swap projects and have silence inbetween is something else.. would really really appreciate this even if its just a 1 hour set.
I'm going to switch from Octatrack MKII to Push3 for personal reasons (will be faster and more efficient personally). But I need it to play hours long live-sets and not just 'a song"
I think your beats are accurate.
Naw!
I think your comment is accurate too 😀
In your opinion. Does the P3 have the same punch for drums as the MPC Live?
Great video. How thick is it compared to the Push 2? The standalone version is very intriguing, as often I work on projects sitting at a Starbucks on my laptop but I leave the P2 at home.
Which is the keyboard on the bottom left bro ?
👍🏾
Does it have a built in speakers,? Or you have to plug the headphone to it
No built in speaker on this one. Headphones or speakers will do the trick :)
the pads look almost identical to the Roger Linn Linstrument
How long does the battery last?
🔥🔥🔥
How many drum kits?
AP3 sample features vs Serato Sample? Love everything you doing homie. Salute. I use a Maschine mk3 with Serato sample always for sample manipulation. Just wanted to know your thoughts on the differences. Much appreciated 🙏🏾💪🏾✊🏾
You could always use Serato Sample as a plugin in Live with push to control it all. There's no support for third party plugins in standalone mode though so that would have to be done with Push as a controller.
The sample manipulation stuff in Live is really powerful but if you're used to Serato, its still possible :D
Good review .. but we can do this on the Push 2 or am i missing something beyond being standalone etc. as far as making a dope beat not sure if it's worth upgrading ?
MPE is cool, but I don't need the standalone. My push 2 with RME digiface has 32 outs to Apogee converters.. 😅I'm just a spectator on new product threads.
@@seekingtruthonly.4299 I'm not knocking it at all but would like to know why it's worth 2 grand more or less compared to the Push 2
@@JustDuppy because it's standalone? Not only are there actual internals in the device (processor and SSD) which are both upgradeable which is crazy, it's an actual interface which the push 2 was not. You weren't able to see midi on push 2 and being able to carry sessions over from standalone to desktop/laptop sessions is dope. Is it worth the price increase? To certain users yes, that's the beauty of products, there are target markets. For you? Maybe not and that's ok
@@thebeatmajors_yt I get what you're saying depends on what your needs are .. i can see it having a benefit in a live / jamming setting for example as one piece of gear to do many things during a performance or just experimenting disconnected from the main setup
@@JustDuppy That would be primarily because of the built in computer. They are selling a cheaper version that's just a controller that's upgradable to stand alone. It's a good innovative step, just not one I need.
